It's that time!  Finally time to start selling the eggs and have the girls earn thier keep!   The chickens Richard & I keep are treated with kindness and love that some people don't even show thier own children.    They are fed fresh organic material and watered daily with some of the best tasting well water!

I have to say that when we started raising chickens a few years ago, it just wasn't as  popular as  it is today!  I think people found out just how easy it is to keep chickens and what a joy it is to get fresh eggs every morning!   

Once you start cooking with fresh eggs..You immediately notice a difference not only in taste but how your end product turns out!   Fluffy and light are just a few words to describe what you cook with fresh eggs.

So here we have decided to sell our eggs!  To share them with the world for a whopping two dollars!!   WOW! 

I have been to places that sell thier eggs for five and six dollars!  If you pay that for eggs.. Unless they are faberge eggs, never pay that!

Two dollars is plenty for a dozen eggs!   

With just an artfully hand painted sign on the end of the driveway..we sell our eggs, by honor system.  We believe that people are inherintly good, and most people are honest in our town!

Just a few things you need to know before you go off selling your own eggs.    Make sure that if you live in florida or some other southern states that you look up the department of agriculture about sales permits for small flocks.   In most cases you do not need a permit.

Make sure the eggs are clean and make sure that you keep them cool.   It is cooler than a refrigerator outside where we live..so our problem is making sure that they don't actually freeze.

It really is that easy.. to do a bit of supplimental income.....     My uncle used to buy a trip for two to Florida every year on what he sold for eggs...  at the rate things are today.. maybe we can afford a jaunt to vermont.....
